Biochemical and Metabolic analyses (i.e. Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM) disorders in newborn infants)

Inborn errors of metabolism (IEM) individually are rare, but are collectively common. The occurrence is usually in the neonatal period or during infancy. An understanding of the major clinical manifestations of inborn errors of metabolism, provides the basis for knowing when to consider the diagnosis and a high index of suspicion is most important in making the diagnosis. ABrC is providing the analysis of amino acid and acylcarnitine in newborn screening for this purpose.
